Apicoectomy

An apicoectomy (sometimes called "root-end surgery") is a dental surgical procedure performed to save a tooth that has a persistent infection or problem at the tip of its root, despite previous root canal treatment. It involves the removal of the apex (tip) of the tooth’s root and any infected tissue around it. The procedure is usually performed by an endodontist, a specialist in treating issues related to the interior of the tooth, including root canal treatments.
